Dear Friends and Neighbours,
I am Alison Fogg, your newly elected President of the Board of the Nob Hill Association, and I am deeply honoured to serve our community.
Perched gracefully atop one of San Francisco’s most celebrated hills, Nob Hill has been home to a rich tapestry of diverse communities for generations. In 1928, a group of thoughtful neighbours came together with a shared vision, founding the Nob Hill Association to ensure our unique neighbourhood would not only endure but continue to flourish for future generations. We are honoured to be San Francisco’s oldest neighbourhood association, a legacy that speaks to the enduring spirit of community that has defined our hill for nearly a century. Today, we continue our dedicated stewardship of Nob Hill’s distinctive character and beauty, with special care for our beloved Huntington Park.
Throughout the year we host meaningful community gatherings that bring neighbours together to celebrate both the park and this historical corner of our city. These events foster the connections that make a neighbourhood truly feel like home.
The members of our Association, along with our affiliated Nob Hill Foundation, share a genuine passion for our community and all those who are part of it. Our Board of Directors and Officers are volunteers who give generously of their time because they believe in the power of neighbours working together toward a common good.
Our membership extends beyond San Francisco’s borders embracing friends from across the United States and around the world. We warmly welcome anyone who shares our commitment to preserving and enhancing Nob Hill’s unique character.
In the early 1970’s we formally adopted Huntington Park, embracing our role as its caring stewards. Since then, we have contributed significantly to its ongoing renovation and maintenance, including the complete restoration of the beautiful Fountain of the Tortoises – our park’s cherished centrepiece.
We invite you to join us in this important work. Together, we can ensure that Nob Hill remains a place where community thrives, beauty endures, and every neighbour feels truly at home.
With warm regards and deep appreciation for our shared community.
